It is the first self sufficient hand made rug factory constructed in Egypt since 1930 therefore, it carries experience, quality and heritage.
“El Kattan Carpets” were certified from the ministry of Labor as the only training center for the teaching of hand made rug weaving in Egypt.
El Kattan Carpet Factory has looms that could manufacture hand made rugs with sizes up to 7*10 meters.
Custom made designs could be tailored according to the clients’ preference in terms of size, design and colors.
Innovating/creating and imitating new and old designs.
The factory has the ability to manufacture duplicate of antique rugs in large sizes using natural treatment for the rugs making it seem old for the taste of the clients that admire the antique image as well as manufacturing custom made modern designs for clients that wish to have an up to date image.
We were awarded with several certificates from different European countries during the years proving that our hand made rugs met the European and international standards.
The building has a historical background in which tourists could visit and enjoy the culture and the story behind the antique building.
Participated in several international exhibitions giving us the knowledge of the western taste.
It exported its various lines of products to different clients in Europe and the U.S.A; therefore we know the taste of the foreign as well as the oriental taste of each market.
The factory has the ability to compete with the prices of its competitors in the local and international markets as well as providing the client with superb quality and designs.
Variety of products is available on stock starting from silk carpets, woolen carpets and hand woven kelims.
In house altering any damage or cleaning the rug is done in "El Kattan Carpet factory" under our professional supervision and technical team.
Preparation for the ISO in order to ensure our clients that "we do what we agree upon". This is an added guarantee for our local and international clients.
